Be Irreplaceable: Teaching and Learning in the Age of Automation

Keynote Description
Automation is rapidly becoming a reality in the workforce and is increasingly encroaching on fields previously thought impenetrable. What implications will automation have on education? Will teachers be replaced? What can and should educators do to prepare students for monumental shifts that have already been set into motion?

About the Presenter
Randy Fairfield has an M.Ed in Professional Studies in Teaching and Learning and currently serves as a Technology/Instructional Coach at Carmichael Middle School in the Richland School District in Eastern Washington. His experience working in dropout recovery schools, parent partnership programs, and high-poverty schools has led him to be passionate about leveraging educational technology to connect with students and their families.

Randy became the first Google for Education Certified Trainer in Eastern Washington (2016) and has been a featured speaker at a number of Summits featuring Google for Education. He is also an Edmodo Certified Trainer, EdmodoCon Speaker (2015), and Edmodo Ambassador of the Year (2015), and is one of the first fifteen Hapara Certified Champion Trainers (2017).
